A Total HD-DVD Recall

August 17, 2007

Here’s another beautiful custom cover from Bunny Dojo. Instead of the typical DVD replacement cover, this one is made for HD-DVD cases. Here’s a look comparing Bunny’s version with the studio version:

Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing”

August 9, 2007

I love it when artists can take an old flick with hardly any source material and make it into something beautiful to look at. ubl6612 did just that with his interpretation of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing. Although the front is a modification of the Criterion cover, I still thinks the ubl6612 works so much better and the entire cover as a whole looks better. Here’s the cover:

Static14’s Hannibal Set [Unofficially] Updated

August 9, 2007

Static14’s Hannibal Collection, originally posted on DVDcoverart.com, has been considered by many to be a great piece of custom cover artwork. Wonderfully designed, this set has been considered favorites by the likes of JasonTheGiant and JupiterPrime, both big names in the cover making hobby.

Hannibal Collection Static14

With the most recent Hannibal flick, Hannibal Rising, having been released on DVD with no official Static14 cover in sight, many wishing to “upgrade” covers have been left hanging. Enter R1DB user shorty240. Shorty240 released his version of Hannibal Rising in the style of Static14’s collection this week. Although I would prefer an official Static14 custom, this can serve as a nice stand in while I wait.

Here’s an image of the Shorty240 version of Hannibal Rising. Official Static14 Hannibal covers are available for free download at virtualaftershock.com to all registered users.

The Fisher King – A Bunnified Interpretation.

August 3, 2007

So Bunny Dojo has been making great covers for years now. Each one with it’s very own special twist to conventional design. His most recent work is certainly no different. To rethink the artwork for The Fisher King like he has is pure genius. I’d choose the Bunny Dojo version over the studio designed version any day.

I’ve included below the Bunny Dojo Version, The US artwork and the UK artwork. I’ve check two of the major cover sites, R1DB and ReplaceTheCase and have not seen any other customs for this flick. What do you guys think?
